The European Fashion Alliance Fashion Policy Round Table at the European Parliament Brussels was followed by a networking event in partnership with Certilogo, which brought together the European fashion industry and encouraged an exchange on the published report on ‘The Status of European Fashion’.
Brussels, 06. Dezember 2024: At the invitation of the European Fashion Alliance (EFA) and Certilogo, a networking event took place in Brussels following the EFA Fashion Policy Round Table. This gave the participants the opportunity to deepen the learnings from the Round Table and further elaborate on the status of the fashion industry. Thematically, the event followed on from the two discussion topics of the round table: Status of the fashion industry: challenges and needs and Future of the fashion industry: opportunities and solutions. The networking event was hosted by Certilogo, a strong ally of the European Fashion Alliance and the industry leader in connected products, and end-to-end digital product passport technology for fashion and luxury brands.
In an introductory keynote speech, Founder and GM, Michele Casucci explained how the Digital Product Passport (DDP) technology connects products and consumers around the world, providing them with transparent access to information on traceability and sustainability. For Casucci, the focus is on ensuring brands are supported in implementing DPPs that not only address compliance challenges, but also generate new economic value. He also emphasized the importance of DPPs in providing consumers with authentic and accurate product information in order to build consumer trust and protect brand value.
The event brought together important stakeholders from the fashion industry, political decision-makers and representatives of the press. These included Annika Mohr Storfält, Global Sustainability Director at BALENCIAGA, Costanza Maramotti, Member of the Board and Sustainability Committee at MAX MARA, Saskia Perlis, ESG Manager at Dries van Noten, Charlotte Cheynard, Senior Manager EU Government Relations at eBay, as well as many members and the board of the European Fashion Alliance, represented by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Fashion Council Germany, Fédération De La Haute Couture Et De La Mode and Flanders DC.
